This year's theme is
Bohemia and the Moulin Rouge
"Where the Elite meets the Street"

We recommend that our guests consider costumes from the fin-de-siecle period in France: Circa 1880 - 1900.

You do not have to choose French costumes. Cultural influences on France during this period included those from India, Japan, England, American, Turkey, Africa, Germany, and the Middle East (then known as Arabia).

Costume Criteria ranges from a rating of PG - R. Sexy and risqué costumes are allowed; however, no X rated costumes will be admitted. If you want to wear a sexy costume, we recommend that you come in something that is "naughty, but nice."

This period offers a wide range of costuming possibilities. These include:

Magic Wardrobe Actors & Singers
Aristocrats
Artists & Critics
Beggars & Thieves
Clowns & Circus Performers
Courtesans & Prostitutes
Snapdragon Gifts Dandies & Ne'er do Wells
Dancers (all kinds)
Diplomats & Spies
Gamblers & Card Sharks
Gypsies & Bohemians
Hunters & Mountain Climbers
Jockeys & Cyclists
Magicians & Street Performers
Maids & Shop Girls
Mediums & Occultists
Poets & Writers
Policeman & Detectives
Rogues & Con Artists
Soldiers & Sailors from many nations
Street Urchins
Students & Intellectuals
Suffragettes & "Blue Stockings"
Tourists from many nations
Unionists & Anarchists
Working Class men & women

You need not be formal, but we do ask that you leave off the gross and hokey. This is not the Exotic Erotic or the County Fair's "Carnival Hall of Horrors". Bring style and class, but not that severed limb...

Attitude, as you know, is everything. We encourage folks to look magical, romantic and wonderful. Most importantly, you should feel good in what you wear. You don't have to go overboard on your costume for this.

Inexpensive costuming ideas: Women can dress as gypsies in a simple skirt with a peasant top. Men can come as starving artists or students by wearing a pair of work boots, a plain pair of pants and a open necked shirt.

No edged weapons of any kind are allowed at the Witches Ball. Theatrical Grade weapons are allowed (and we will let the Police know that our guests may be carrying these).

We will have a Cloak Room, so you can bring a purse and so that you can layer to keep warm.

If you have any questions about costuming, please email us at info@fullcircleevents.org.
